How Much Do Sessions Cost? Sessions are $130 for a standard 45-50-minute session. Like many therapists, I do offer a reduced fee scale based on financial need. If you feel you need the benefits of therapy, but can not afford my regular rate, please contact me by phone so we can discuss your particular situation. If all reduced fee spots are taken, I will be happy to put you on a waiting list until something opens up, or can help provide you with names of other therapists who may offer the same.
What Are Your Hours? * Monday 9:15-6:00 (5:00 being the last appointment slot) Tuesday 9:15-6:00 Wednesday 9:15-6:00 Thursday 2:00-6:00 Please keep in mind that later appointments may fill up fast. I firmly believe that it is important for students to miss as little school as possible, so please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about my office hours and availability. I'm sure we can find a time that works. *Some sessions may be scheduled outside of these hours on a limited basis.
What Forms of Payment Do You Take? I take debit, credit, cash, and checks. I can also accept your FSA and HSA cards. If you are paying by cash, please bring the exact amount as I may not be able to make change.
Do You Accept Insurance? No, I do not. I am considered an "out-of-network" provider. However, if you would like to try and use your “Out of Network” benefits, I can provide you with a receipt, called a Superbill, upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company to try and receive reimbursement. You will need to meet your "Out of Network" deductible before the insurance company will reimburse you. Please know that in order to do this I am required by insurance companies to assign you a “Diagnosis Code” which becomes part of your permanent medical record. I recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your specific plan’s policy is for out of network mental health providers.
What If I Have to Cancel or Reschedule an Appointment? Life can get crazy and things happen, but should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please do so with at least 24 hours notice or you will be charged for the appointment.
I've Never Been in Counseling, What Is It Like? If you have never been a part of counseling, you might be nervous. That is totally normal! Counseling can be fun, and it can also be hard work because change takes effort. For some it is a relief ~ it's a chance to unpack the emotions that have been stuffed inside for so long. It is a safe place to express your thoughts and feelings without judgment or criticism.
